Account & Beta Access
How do I get access to Cineplex?
Cineplex is currently in beta, and we are onboarding viewers gradually. You can sign up for beta access right here on this site. Once your access is ready, you can log in to the app at app.cineplex.media/login.
Does Cineplex cost anything?
Watching with ads is free — you do not need to enter payment details. Ads shown during viewing keep the free tier free and allow creators to earn from their work. If you prefer ad-free viewing, you can subscribe through our Roku channel; a Roku subscription removes ads on Roku and on the web.
I can't log in to my account. What should I do?
First, double-check that you are logging in at app.cineplex.media/login with the email address you signed up with. If your password isn't working, try resetting it from the login page. If you still can't get in, email info@cineplex.media from your account email and we will help you sort it out.
Something looks broken or unfinished. Is that normal?
Because the platform is in beta, you may occasionally run into rough edges, missing features, or the odd bug. Reporting what you find genuinely helps us: every report is read by the team and used to prioritize fixes. See the "Report a problem" section below for what to include.
Watching on Cineplex
Where do I actually watch?
All viewing happens in the Cineplex app at app.cineplex.media. This site (cineplex.media) is our main landing page where you can learn about the platform and sign up for the beta.
Why am I seeing ads?
Ads are how Cineplex stays free for viewers. Instead of charging a subscription, we show advertising during playback and share that revenue with the creators whose films and shows you are watching. Watching with ads directly supports the people who made the content.
Video keeps buffering or looks blurry. What can I do?
Buffering and low picture quality are almost always related to connection speed or device load. Work through the steps in the "Troubleshooting playback" section below — they resolve the large majority of playback complaints. If the problem persists after trying them, report it to us so we can investigate.
For Creators
Can I upload my own films or shows to Cineplex?
Yes. Cineplex is built for creators as much as for viewers: filmmakers and show producers can upload their work to the platform and reach the full Cineplex audience — free-tier viewers and subscribers alike. If you are interested in publishing on Cineplex, email info@cineplex.media and tell us about your project.
How do creators earn money on Cineplex?
Creators monetize through our ad program. On the ad-supported tier, ads run during playback and the resulting advertising revenue is shared with the creators of the content being watched. That means your earnings grow with your audience, while your work stays accessible to everyone.
I have a question about my content or earnings. Who do I contact?
Email info@cineplex.media with your account email and a description of your question. Creator inquiries go to the same team as viewer support, and we usually respond within 24–48 hours.
Troubleshooting Playback
If a video won't start, keeps buffering, or looks worse than it should, try these steps in order. Most playback issues are resolved by one of them:
- Check your connection speed. Run a quick speed test on the device you're watching on. Slow or unstable connections are the most common cause of buffering — if other sites are slow too, the issue is likely your network rather than Cineplex.
- Lower the playback quality. If your connection can't keep up with high-definition streaming, choosing a lower quality lets the video play smoothly instead of stopping to buffer.
- Restart your browser or app. Close it fully and reopen it, then return to app.cineplex.media. This clears temporary glitches that build up during long sessions.
- Clear your browser cache. A stale cache can serve outdated files that break playback. After clearing it, reload the page and log in again.
- Try another network. If possible, switch from Wi-Fi to a wired connection, move closer to your router, or test on mobile data. If playback works on a different network, the original network is the likely culprit.
Still stuck after all five steps? That points to something on our end — please report it using the details below.
Report a Problem
Found a bug, a playback failure, or anything else that doesn't work as expected? Email us at info@cineplex.media. To help us fix it quickly, please include:
- Your account email — so we can look at your account and reproduce the issue from your side.
- Your device and browser — for example, "Windows 11, Chrome" or "iPhone 15, Safari". Many issues are specific to a particular device or browser version.
- What happened — what you were trying to do, what you expected, and what actually occurred. If you saw an error message, copy it word for word; a screenshot is even better.
We read every report, and during the beta your feedback directly shapes what we fix and build next. We typically respond within 24–48 hours.
